Summerlin: Las Vegas's Premier Master-Planned Community

22,500 acres of desert-foothill living at the base of Red Rock Canyon

Summerlin

Since breaking ground in 1990, Summerlin has grown into one of the nation's best-selling master-planned communities, spreading across roughly 22,500 acres in the western Las Vegas Valley at the foot of the Spring Mountains. What began as a vision from Howard Hughes was carried forward by his company, renamed Howard Hughes Corporation in 1994.

Rather than one uniform subdivision, Summerlin is a mosaic of individually designed villages, each with its own architecture, price points, and character.

Anchoring it all is Downtown Summerlin, a 400-acre mixed-use district that opened in 2014 with more than 125 shops, restaurants, and bars, plus City National Arena and Las Vegas Ballpark. Combined with over 200 miles of trails and 10 golf courses, Summerlin has earned its reputation as one of the most consistently top-ranked master-planned communities in the country.
